Hi

I've just re-installed XP Pro on my laptop and patched it
up to SP2. Everything seems to be running fine and dandy,
except when I close the last instance of IE.

For instance, if I have 2 IE windows open, if I close one
of them, its fine, but when I close the last one, an
error report is generated. Not sure why this may be,
which is why I thought I'd try for an answer on here!

It's actually more annoying than anything- especially if
I have a download in progress as it stops them all as
well.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi Crazyhorse :-)

Could you please post the exact wording of the error message? It might help
us find a faster solution for you. :-)

Jan :)
Smiles are meant to be shared,
that's why they're so contagious.

Basically what happens is, when I close the window, a box
appears saying:

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for any inconvenience."

Then I get the choice to send an error report or not.

If I click to get details it says at the top of the next
box that opens:

"Error Signature

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180
ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 1000217d"

If I then click on the link for "Technical Information
about the error report" I get a load of technical stuff
appearing, that looks like a lot of memory addresses.
It's kind of long though so not sure whether I should
post it here. If you would like me to, then I will though.

Hope this is a bit more helpful than before.

Cheers
