i see a number of people have posted similar problems
just today, so must be endemic to the product--explorer
6.0, even with the latest updates, freezes when you try
to open links within a page. would it be better to
uninstall 6.0 and install an earlier version of
explorer? If so, how can one get an earlier version?

I only started getting the lock ups AFTER the last
critical update about 1 week ago!!!

I have searched the knowledge base with every possible
combo of words and found nothing.

This is very interesting...I started having the same
problem yesterday. It had worked fine on Sunday, and I'm
not aware of installing anything new. The fixes suggested
so far have NOT worked for me - all of the DLL's were
registered; all of the registry keys are intact. There's
something very wrong going on that seems to have been
triggered yesterday - but I can't find any virus despite
the latest Symantec definitions. Was there something wrong
with the last update patch>

I am developing a content management system using ie.
I use modal dialogue boxes(showModalDialogue) which also
freeze ie6. If there is any fix available then I would
appeaciate the link being posted here...
This is causing our company some concern as you can
imagine.. Basically our product freezes every 5 minutes or
so on ie6. Best advice I can give anyone is send in your
error reports when IE crashes... they may wake up to the
problem then..!

same thing happened to me! Tried ALL those fix and
methods! But, no use! finally, i had to reinstall my
windows. But, it happened again after 2 weeks!

As I mentioned as soon as I installed the last critical update for IE6
running W2K + SP4 the freeze-ups started.

All I ask it some aknowledgement by the MS VIPs here that MS is
looking into the problem.
