IE 6 Favorites doesn't show commonly used sites

Since trying out MS Antispyware, my IE 6 no longer shows
the commonly used favourites, but shows the full list
every time. I've uninstalled MS Antispyware and tried a
System restore but to no avail. How can I restore this
function to IE 6? I found it very useful indeed.
 
Rob,
Open IE. Click on TOOLS and then choose INTERNET OPTIONS. Click on the
ADVANCED tab. Under the BROWSING section, make sure that ENABLE
PERSONALIZED FAVORITES MENU is checked. That should fix it.

That's the first thing I did. It was already checked. So
I've tried checking and unchecking but I still cannot get
my personalized favourites menu working again since
installing (and now uninstalling) AntiSpyware. No more
trial versions for me!

Aw c'mon--don't bring magic into this! Then we'll need to explain to all
the folks whose problem ISN'T fixed why magic isn't working for them.
