The webpages are not displayed anymore. I can see the page
being downloaded in the progress bar of IE, but the only
way to get the webpage visible is when I press a menu-item
on the menubar of IE or resize the active IE window. The
situation worked fine upon tuesday last week. The only
change made then was that the machine was equipped with a
second CPU.

I have already scanned the system for spyware (used
AdAware 6.0) and tried a repair install of IE. Nothing
changed, problem remains. Can anyone help me out, because
this is affecting a small network with IE installed within
a Citrix metaframe XP environment.

Try using Cascade Windows (e.g. right-click the Taskbar).
Do it with all other windows minimized to avoid affecting their sizes.
Close the window as soon as it is resized.

is this a solution or another work-around?

If the symptom is not due to malware (e.g. continual running script
which resets itself to be offscreen or minute) then the procedure
I gave you was intended to be an improvement over what you are
currently doing to resize the window.
