Hi,
I sent an email to MS regarding the situation of the disabled seach
features. I've included the original text and reply for those that are
interested.
Has anyone else had any breakthroughs in solving this situation?
David.

QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS
Message: Hi,
Just recently, i noticed about 2 weeks ago, the customize search feature, in
IE6, has changed and not for the better.
Previously, after selecting customize, I had a choice of search engines and
the ability to prioritize them. This function is no longer available.
The 'Next' selection in the search panel tool bar has also been disabled.
These features were good features that I personally used frequently and
would urge Microsoft to re-enable them and also have them included in the
upcoming IE7.
It is extremely annoying having to spend so much time to try and rectify a
problem that was created by Microsoft themselves. Myself and many others
have been inconvenienced by Microsoft's actions.
Please address these concerns.

Hello David,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Customer Service.
I personally think, what you would like to implement is very reasonable and
understand how frustrating it is when you find that the product does not
meet your needs. I will forward your suggestion to our development team so
that they may improve this by an update patch to be released in the future
or in the next version of the product.
Also, I suggest that you provide your feedback in the following page:
http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp?
This site is for ideas on new or improved features and services that you
would like to see added and ways to make Microsoft products easier. Your
suggestions are always welcome there.
David, if you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reply to
this e-mail.
Thank you for using Microsoft products and services.
