Jimbo

I am getting the following message periodically on my windows xp svc
pack 1 machines when using Internet Explorer v6.0.2800.1106. These
machines are running Norton antivirus 2004 and zonealarm.

"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience"

The application event log reads as follows:
Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting
module fltrc.dll, version 2.0.0.41, fault address 0x00018823.

Does anyone know what might cause this error? Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks for all the info but this did not seem to help with the
problem. I would really like to know what fltrc.dll is - maybe that
would give me a clue as to what is causing IE to crash.

Any searches on fltrc.dll turn up empty.
