IE 6 Crashes about:blank

IE crashes on me when I am using Outlook and close a message and it also
happens when I have multiple windows open on the internet and close one. The
address changes to about:blank and I get the message IE has encountered a
problem and needs to close. I am currently using IE 6 SP2. I have run my
anti-virus software as well as adware removal programs and they all say I am
clean. The about:blank has not changed my home page as most articles I have
read says it does. It seems to be a problem with my browser's blank page.
Any suggestions?

I had this problem before and use freeware from Trend Micro call CW
Shredder. http://www.trendmicro.com/cwshredder/
