IE 6 causes PC to freeze

Over the last few weeks I have been frustrated with the
number of times the whole PC has frozen when the only
real activity has been using IE6 to surf the net.

I need to be able to either repair the problem or
eliminate the cause of the problem.

Is there any software I could run to monitor the positon
on my Pc.Failing that is there any way I can reapir the
IE6 installation.
