IE 6 causes erroneous table expansion

As a developer I'm having problems with the front page of a
particular site: www.newhumanist.org.uk/index.php .
Visitors viewing it in IE6 see the page expanded to fill
the width of the browser window, instead of at the fixed
760 or so pixels, centered, as it should be. This is
temporarily sorted out if the page is reloaded. But pass
your mouse over a link and right-click, and the page jumps
to 100% width again. What is going one?

Any help appreciated. This problem does not occur in Opera
7.x

IE 6 with screen resolution set to 800 X 600 pixels. I get 100+ of the
screen. I have to use the Hor. scroll to see the right hand side of the
screen.

Refreshing the site is the same.

For what it's worth look at this.

Internet Explorer Calculates the Web Page Window Size Incorrectly
When you create Web pages, the screen-size calculation that is used to
determine child window locations (and other items in a parent window) may be
incorrect. This may cause child windows (and other items in a parent window)
in an HTML page to appear off center, or to appear incorrectly in the parent
window of an HTML page.

Henri,

I think I can see what he is getting at but I don't know HTML well enough
to know if is coded properly. The effect that I see is that the right-hand
column is right-aligned with the window sometimes. Apparently he would
prefer it not to be that way. It's only really noticeable in Fullscreen mode.
