IE 6 and .swf objects....

I don't know where else to turn with this problem, so I'm posting it
here and on Macromedia user forum...

Using Window XP, SP2, Internet Explorer ver. 6, latest updates.
Installed latest versions of Macromedia players as well.

Whenever I'm given a URL, say for www.anyoldplace.com/seemy.swf, IE
doesn't show the .swf animation. If, however, the .swf object is
embedded in a .html page, such as www.anyoldplace.com/seemy.html, the
animation plays as expected. I have changed IE security settings to
allow active content, etc. So far, nothing has helped...

Thanks in an advance.. you can email me @ lupowell - at - comcast dot
net.

Hi,

Try associating .swf files with IE as the program used to open them. Control
Panel/Folder Options/File types tab, scroll down to .swf and select it, then
click advanced.
