Like a lot of other people, I am posting because IE 6 SP 1
seems to keep on hanging on websites, at any given time,
and during any given operation, or download. I have
managed to catch it a couple of times using the Close
Program window, but I am curious as to whether or not
anyone has any idea what is up with IE 6?

It does not seem to matter what website you are on, or
what you are doing, it just seems that IE 6 will hang at
least once-a-day? I have run system checks using Norton
System Works, and sometimes I find that there has been a
file allocation error. If anyone knows how to fix this, or
what can be done to prevent it, please let me know.

Erik.

I haven't problems with IE6 sp1. Some people have got advertising parasites.
They can cause crashes. If you get name of crashing program (for example
htcheck2.dll), try to search that file using google or directly from
http://www.spywareinfo.com/bhos/archives/000170.php. If it's listed in
spyware lists, get rid of that. There are good tools for removing spyware.

I'll check into it, but I doubt that it's spyware. This is
a new image on this machine, and I haven't been around to
too many websites on this machine. Thanks for the tip
though. I think that this is a buffer problem possibly. I
am trying to look for the article that has to do with IE
requesting too many objects. I think that this may be the
problem with IE 6.
