IE 6.0 will not open

When I try to open the internet I get the error message,
Explorer has caused an invalid page fault wininet.dll
0187:6300 ca81.

I have reloaded Windows 98 SE, Office 97, and have run
SpyBot.

I still cannot get Explorer to work.
