IE 6.0 SP1 no worky with out http://

After applying the latest round of IE security updates I
noticed that when you type in a URL i.e.(www.anything.com)
it takes the browser about 60 seconds before the web page
is displayed. However, if I type in the URL with http://
the web page comes up almost immediately. I have looked
through many different online helps and even the KB and
cannot find anyting like it. It think it has to do with a
timeout or search setting somewhere in IE, but I cannot
find it anywhere. Any ideas????

Tools>Internet Options>Advanced>Search from Address bar...what's checked
here? Try "Just display results...".

Alternately, make certain Search hasn't been hijacked: http://snurl.com/1vf8

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit is with this tool.
