These are minor, but they are incredibly annoying to me:

1) How can I make it so the Status Bar is always
displayed? I -really- don't want to have to go up
to 'View - Status Bar' every time I open a new browser
window.

2) Why does a 'Links' folder keep re-appearing in my
Favorites list? I don't want it! Help me remove it
permanently.

Thank you!

I think you can go to Folder Options and in the Veiw tab,
scroll make sure the there is a check mark in the box,
Remember each folders veiw settings. In Internet Options,
Advanced tab, scroll and look for and enable, Enable
Personalized Favorites Menus. Try that.

Also, I think I did this a while back, I deleted the
contents of the Favorite folder in the All Users folder.

You can't. Bill doesn't want you to delete it and has issued an edict that
it will be recreated every time IE is run. You can, however, hide it.
Right-click on "Links" > Properties > enable "hidden".

Hi,

Manual Edits:

There are two methods that can be used to hide the Links folder, one using
the registry and the other using file attributes. Both methods are detailed
below:

Automated Edit:

Remove Links folder from IE/Favorites (Line 93)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Using the Registry - Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\
Toolbar

Set the String value of "LinksFolderName" to equal a blank string. Open IE
and delete the Links folder from the Favorites menu.

The next time you start Internet Explorer the Links folder will not be
recreated.

Using File Attributes

Using Explorer find the location of your Favorites folder (e.g. C:\Documents
and Settings\User Name\Favorites) within that folder will be a sub-folder
named Links.

Select the Links folder and right-click (or secondary click) and select
Properties, check the Hidden checkbox and click OK.

From now on the Links folder should be hidden from the Favorites list. This
works for any other folder or link on the favorites menu as well.

Note: The Links folder must be manually deleted from the favorites menu.
This tweak stops it being automatically recreated.

I believe you do the following:

Click on Favorites, right mouse click on "Links", click on Delete et Voila.
