IE 6.0 installatioin

Hi Folks,
I need some help to fix my IE 6.0.

I have a brand new Dell PC with win XP, IE 6.0 installed. Couple of
days, I think that I have removed some file under the
c:\program files\internet explorer\, that my IE 6.0 is broken.

Right now, if I click the IE icon, it says that some fatel error
happens, users need to have the current process exit.
If I try to uninstall the IE 6.0, it tells me the IE is completely
removed, I may do a new installation.
If I use the dell backup CD to re-install the IE, it says that there
is a existing IE there, that I do not need to do the installation
again.

Could someone give me some advise what I might do to fix the problem ?

thanks a lot

After clicking the IE icon to start a web session, the program often returns
a message
like"server cannot be accessed".Following tools|internet options|connections
it appears that the checkmark in the"always make default connection" check-
box has migrated to the "never make a connection" check-box,hence the
error.How can
I make the checkmark stay permanently in its right place?
A more bothersome annoyance:clicking the icon on the taskbar to disconnect
always
freezes my windowsME pc.Pressing the power button is then the only way to
shut it down.
These malfunctions appeared a few weeks after upgrading from ie5.5 to
ie6,also from
oe5.5 to oe6.The latter behaves correctly.
my pc is virus free,in near-perfect condition.can anyone suggest a method to
fix it? many thanks in advance.Could a new, clean ie6 be downloaded to
replace the
existing one?

Go to Add/Remove Programs, highlight IE6 and click to Remove. A window will
pop-up giving you options like Repair.
