Have a Windows XP home edition on one of my laptop
computers at home. When I click on Internet explorer, I
see the explorer just running and running and not brining
any web page. Some times it opens 15-20 explorer windows.
Seems like it is just spinning. May the IE installation
is corrupted. Every thing worked fine until just a few
days ago.

I tried to uninstall windows IE components, but all I
could ininstall was IE help and IE Host. Is there any way
to reinstall Windows IE alone without affecting the XP
O/S ? I know the problem is with IE browser as eveything
else is pretty normal. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
Check for malware. Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot)
at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:

If removing malware doesn't resolve the problems, a repair/reinstall may be
the solution.

Hope this helps,
