IE 6.0 crashes and errors dialogue box to be sent to Microsoft repeatedly

Have had IE crash numerous times lately. Have run repair
program and no errors found. Dialogue box pops up that
error to be sent to Microsoft. If you choose to send then
it appears to send info and then by default your homepage
opens, not the page you wanted to be on.I have gone to
using Netscape as my browser because of the above problem.
Any ideas?

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
