You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:
First, make sure Active Desktop is turned off.

Update your video drivers.
Then right click on the lower Task Bar, find the explorer.exe and kill it in
the Processes tab of the Windows Task Manager. Then reload explorer.exe by
running a New Task in the Windows Task Manager.
