ie 6.0 address bar no longer shows the letter "e" for internet explorer

I would expedct there is a simple solution to this problem, but in the address bar of Internet Explorer, I no longer see the letter "e" that is symbolic of Internet Explrer (appear before the actual address). I now see a symbol that looks like a file, and has a red, green and blue dot within it. Does anyone have an idea what the issue may be?
