IE 5.5 or 6 for Windows 98 SE?

The MS site now says IE 6 is OK for Win98.

However, When speaking to a MS representative, I was told
NOT to use IE 6 and was instructed on how to remove it from
Win 98.

A lot of people say there were stability issues with 6/98
and I believe I have experienced some of them.

I like the features of IE 6 and have reverted back to 5.0
as was shipped with 98 and all my problems have seemed to
have been solved.

Am I missing something?

Thanks
Tom

Got the name of that "MS representative", Tom? <G>

Since it's release in August-02, IE6-SP1 has been working just fine for the
vast majority of Win98/Win98SE users. Furthermore, MS considers IE6-SP1 a
"critical update". See this archived post: http://tinyurl.com/1hbd

IE6 should *not* be installed on Win95.

PA Bear, I'm going to go thru my notes and see if I can
find the details. This was when IE6 was relatively new
since I always kept everything on my machine up to date.
