I am really new at this, so bare with me.

I am trying to open a program that requires AOL to open it although I don't use AOL as my ISP. I do have the AOL downloaded that was offered with the computer when I bought it. Anyway, when I try to open my program, AOL tries to open, but stops when a window pops up and says my IDX is damaged. What is that and what does it mean? How do I fix it
I would appeciate anyones help. :)

If you have a program that requires AOL to run, I'd suggest you re-think
using that program.

AOL probably isn't fully installed on your computer, it's likely just a link
to setup files, which may be damaged. You could go to just about any office
supply store, computer store, or whatever, and find free AOL disks lying
around for free. Use that to install AOL. You might have to set up an
account somewhere during the install. Think twice before you offer a credit
card number.

Keep in mind, though, that AOL quite often ends up changing system settings
that could mess up your current ISP settings, and once install AOL is quite
painful to get rid of.

Out of curiosity, what program requires AOL?
