I'm brand spankin new to this so excuse me if this is stupid.

I just imported a VCR tape into the computer and am looking to drop
identifiers or markers so that the DVD can be accessed throughout (typical
action, no?) and yet in Movie maker I can't seem to figure it out.
Thoughts please?

Movie Maker doesn't do that kind of thing... it's done in your DVD creation
software, as chapter points...

in Movie Maker you can save a bigger video in parts, one part per movie, and
use those in your DVD instead of chapter points.

bummer.

In MAC world, IMovie and IDVD work this out well. You import the vid in
IMovie, create and name markers, and export that to IDvd. Is there software
in the XP world that does it this way? I got alot of vids to do and to do
them on both platforms would save a tremendous amount of time. If not, what
DVD creation software should I use with movie maker. I own easy cd/dvd
creator 6, but I'm not sure about it (seems awkward although it could just
be me).

Your help is much appreciated.

Hello there,

THE BEST you will ever get at our end of the market is Nero 6 Reloaded (Current
version) and not just because it can do what you want...it can also re-edit a
DVD with no loss of quality (If you do not want to recreate the project with
all the tedium that doing that involves) and of course it will do ALL of your
CD, VCD and DVD tasks, including backing up your hard drives, a very very good
all rounder with some amazing abilities

I have to say the I agree with John Kelly on this point (way too many
John's around here).

The sounds good, but given the fact that I have Easy CD creator 6, would you
get the upgrade to 7 or go with Nero outright?

Hello,

I was offered the latest ECD etc and Nero at the same time...I had been
somewhat disappointed with the overall look and feel + performance of ECD...I
tried Nero first and am totally sold with it...I am luck though, a close friend
has a distribution company and I have the pick of the free samples....I would
not consider trying ECD...there is no point...Nero 6 Reloaded does everything I
could ever want....A very accomplished program.
