A problem has occurred in the last couple of days where after leaving
the machine idle for a few hours, it will not operate correctly when
brought back by moving the mouse or pressing a key.

The following error message appears:

Script: C:\Documents & settings\all users\Start menu\Programs\Startup\
search.vbs

Line: 3

Char: 1

Ereror: unspecified

Code: 80004005

Source: (null)

What is causing this and how do I correct it?

I also have to re-build my news and mail databases as well.

Not come across anything like this before.

You really shouldn't have a .vbs script in your start up folder. Unless you
know what it is and you put it there, it would be safe to consider that this
..vbs file is not good (virus maybe). Move it somewhere, attack it with
antivirus scanners or delete it.

Ace - thanks for your response. My virus checker has come up with zero,
and I certainly did not put the file there - at least not knowingly.
Therefore, I have now deleted it and await to see if anything untoward
occurs.
