identity crisis

When I go to file/switch identity it does so OK, but as soon as I exit OE,
it reverts to the original identity. In Win98 it would keep the selected
identity until I chose to change it or until I shut down and restarted the
PC. Can I do anything about this?

File | Identities | Manage Identities
Uncheck "Use this Identity when starting a program".
