Hello folks!
Not a problem just a question. I have a 9700Pro not made by ATI, can't
remember the actual manufacturer, and it was from the New Egg refurb
offerings. Have had it for many months now but recently there is an odd
development!
Any software, including the CAT drivers see the card as a 9700Pro which
sounds correct. However, after loading the drivers the display simply
becomes slooooooow. Windows will openly both slowly and start out very dim
then eventually get to there normal graphic representation. Some windows
(for example IE) will open from top to bottom kind of like in the old days
with a 2400 baud modem but of course not that slowly.
The corrective action is to update the drivers to the ones for a 9800Pro!
Once this is done the video again becomes very snappy and there are no
issues with opening any program including IE. This is not a major problem
as I know how to get things working. However , rather a curiosity as to why
this has developed? I have used several versions of CAT drivers and several
versions of Omega Drivers with the same outcome.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of or seen this behavior. Thanks for any
input!
