Identifying reason for pause

Hi. I have a windows 2000 SP4 with Metaframe 1.8 SP 4.
This machine simply stops and then starts again. I have
applied various hotfixes however feel that this may be
related to the spooler. My reason for this belief is
that if I stop the spooler service we have not response
time issues. I have in excess of 450 printers with 45
differnet makes involved ! Terrible situation I know.

Any ideas on how I could progress my diagnostics?

Nothing at all in the event viewer.

There is a known bug that can cuase a terminal server to
pause every so often when a client logs in or logs out.

this may be related to a hotfix after you apply SP4 with Metaframe.

Well clearly the bugfix described previously may help in some situations, but I have a similar pausing issue and have applied the hotfixes described. Still there are these annoying pauses that occur during peak AND off-peak times. I'd say try the hotfixes, but chances are this will not correct your problem. Some day I'll stumble across the solution.
