Identifying Playlist via Search Match

Anyone know how to tell what playlist a selection is in
via the search feature? Albums are identified, but not
playlist. WMP8 is tis way, don't know about WMP9.

I don't believe it works this way. The search is done against Tracks, not
playlists, and Tracks don't have a notion of playlists that use them - just
their album parents.

.Thanks for the info. I was afraid it might worked this
way. Thought I'd ask anyway.

I must be using the product in a way that the developers
didn't anticipate or chose not to go this direction.

Most of my playlist(300+) consist of url's and don't have
notion about albums.

Sure would be a good enhancement for future release.

Tks again for the info.

Regards,

As an addendum to my above msg... Searches must be made
against the media library (which I assume consist of
albums and playlist) because I get results returned that
show selections in mylist but are not in an album. In my
case these are url's that I've added to playlist. So the
search does look at playlist. If only it would show the
playlist name just as it shows the album name on a match.

Hope I'm not beating a dead horse to death...

To clarify further:
Each track has associated data. It can link to one album. If it does not
have the album field set, it has no album "parent" to work with. There is
no way short of you personally setting one of the Custom fields for it to
have a Playlist owner, as there is no Playlist field for each track.

A playlist is a collection of tracks. There is no reverse association. :)
