Most likely your motherboard battery is dead. It's also possible that the
"Clear CMOS" jumper is incorrectly installed. Consult your motherboard
manual regarding the jumper. If you have not made any internal adjustments
to your PC, then the jumper is probably not the problem. Most modern
motherboards use a CR3032 button cell battery, which sells for about $3.00.
If neither of these is your problem, it's possibly a keyboard problem. On
some (rare) BIOS, holding the HOME or END key while booting will reset the
CMOS settings. If one of these keys were stuck down, you would get this
response.
