Ide/sata ... resolved

I have an old Dell with Win 98 on. The motherboard died sometime ago. The thing is the HDD has a lot of photo's and Docs on I would like to retrieve. I don't want to go out and buy a HDD enclosure for a HDD which I think is on its way out. My question is, my current main computer has both IDE and SATA, can I install the Dell HDD inside my computer as a second drive using IDE and retrieve the info I want ?
