Is this possible yet?

Can you chain these LaCie external Firewire/USB drives together and get some fault tolerance?

Will it be possible with the new SATA hardware?

I want to build about 3TB but with cheap disks - with some fault tolerance - RAID5 would be nice.

Only with a kludge like you get with the internal removable drive bay kits.

Not with true RAID5 yet that I have noticed.

Yeah, it does reduce the urgency when a drive fails.
