IDE Question

I'm currently using the IDE controller that's built into my
motherboard, and I have all 4 channels used. If I were to buy a PCI
IDE card, would it be able to co-exist with the on-board controller so
I could add more drives?

Yes but read the manual for the card as some cards don't like certain
devices so you may have to re-configure a bit.
