Hi all,
I recently had to run Windows XP Home repair consell. After this I found my 2 dvd-rw were missing from the my computer folder ( NEC and Aopen) . They appeared in the device manager and were said to be working correctly ( they wern't) .The only way i could get them to re-appear was to unistall then reinstall the primary and secondary IDE channels. this worked fine for a while but now they have stopped appearing in device manager and I cant get them back whatever I do.
Tried downloading new drivers but keeps saying cant find them.
This appears to be a windows prob as they are enabled in the BIOS. I have tried swapping the cables but no good.
Any ideas?

Hi yoyokid, hopefully someone here will be able to find a solution - but often when things have gone wrong with windows, especially when requiring a repair, the only long term solution is to go for a full windows re-install....:(
