Does anybody know how to get the microsoft ide drivers
back in XP Pro? Via updates deleted the oem drivers and
now my cdrw don't work thanks for any help

Open device manager and roll back the drivers? Do a system
restore to a date before you changed the drivers. Use
device manager to remove the drives and re-boot so the
correct drivers are installed.

Try these one at a time, one or all should work.

Via 4 in 1 drivers install an entry in Add/Remove programs and also the
original VIA installer can be used to remove the drivers. However, the VIA
drivers do provide the correct Ultra DMA drivers so that the hard drives can
be accessed faster.

This may not be a complete solution to you CDRW problem. Make sure that you
have upper/lower filters for the CDRW unit, inside the registry. Scan this
newsgroup and you should find a link to some registry patches.
