IDE activity

I am running a fresh install of XP home on an asus p4s8x using a raid array
(striped). Since install the ide led has begun to stay on at all times but
system runs fine. It seems to go bright when HD is in use and dull at other
times. With a different HD (ide) and operating system (XP) on the same
motherbooard the ide led behaves normally. Has anyone out there experienced
a similar problem.

Perhaps the connector on the motherboard is only meant for monitoring the
primary and secondary ide channels. Is there a separate header for the RAID
channels.

If the light stays on all the time, that sometimes is due to the connector
being the wrong way around.

Do you have the latest bios and motherboard drivers ?
