Hi,

I have to remove and recreate my waiter DNS so that it redirects my stations
correctly.
But, since, I have in a the error message ID 5574.
Windows 2000 domain controllers may fail to dynamically register the
globally unique identifier
(GUID) DNS records in the forest root zonene (Knowledge Base).
I took all the advice of MS without result.
I notice that in my zone of research direct, I have like recording only my
domain field.
While comparing with another server, I miss the zones _ msdcs, _ sites, _
TCP and _ UDP under my field.

Is it possible to create these zones manually?
If not, the removal and the creation of my DNS it will solve my problem ?

Thanks in advance.
Gary.

You can manually create the zones but it probably won't fix you problem. If
the sub-zones are not automatically created you have another problem. I'll
give the usual suspect problems.

1. ISP's DNS in TCP/IP properties.(in any posistion) Remove and put only
your DC's IP address. Make sure "Allow dynamic updates" are set to "Yes"
until it is up and working right, then "Only secure updates"

2. Single label domain name. Make the registry entries from this KB article:
300684 - Information About Configuring Windows 2000 for Domains with
Single-Label DNS Names
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300684&FR=1

3. Disjointed namespace. When the Primary DNS suffix does not match the AD
DNS Domain name. There is a script devoloped for MS Support to fix this,
which I can provide for you.
You will need to email me directly for this fix and include your ipconfig
/all and the domain name from ADU&C. This is to verify you do have a
disjointed name space and your email address so I can email the script and
the instructions.

:
Probably not.
