is it possible to share my internet connection whilst
connecting through aol8? we have one pc running on
windows me and one on xp. we can share files and
printers but do not appear to be able to share our
internet connection. we are VERY new to networking, and
are being given lots of conflicing advice. can you help?

thanks :-)

if the computer connected to the internet is the ME one
and you are trying to connect the xp to the internet
through the ME one, it shold be easy, as when you try to
set an internet connection xp gives you the choice of
direct connection or connect through another pc.

if its the other way round i.e xp connected already and
you're trying to connect the Me pc, then ???? im not to
keyed up with ME sorry.

Without using some sort of proxy setup, I don't believe it is possible
to share AOL due to the way it accesses the internet.

Just to follow up on that, doing a search on Google for "ICS AOL 8"
proved very useful.

It confirmed my mention of a proxy, and there are definitely solutions
out there, go seek and ye shall find.

Have you tried getting online with AOL, then minimizing,
then starting up Internet Explorer? I think ICS will work
if you are using Internet Explorer/
