i have been trying this for a whole week and it seems
that i cant find a specific answer from the web. i am
trying to connect my winnt 4 workstation to the internet
thru my winxp pc. the two pcs are networked and working
fine but i cannot do an internet connection sharing. are
there any workaround on this? any help is greatly
appreciated.

Hi Roger

I've got exactly the same problem, and posted a message
earlier yesterday, but no joy. If you do get a solution
I'd be eternally in your debt if you passed it on to me !

Regards

Enable ICS on the winxp pc, as shown here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics

XP's Network Setup Wizard won't run on winnt 4, so configure that
computer's network setting manually:

1. Configure TCP/IP to obtain an IP address automatically.
2. Set the workgroup name to MSHOME.

thanks guys i did manage to ics the two by enabling the
sharing for modem and to configure the ip atomatically.

for my lan card/connection i manually put the IP
192.168.0.1 DNS 255.255.255.0

for the NT4 i put the IP: 192.168.0.20 DNS 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1 and it just works. :)

but anyway i found that the nt is also using the same
amount of memory as my XP does so i re-installed my XP on
nt machine and now am trying to disable some services in
Xp. good lucks guys. thanks
