Hi

I have networked a win2K and xp home finally. They can see
each other and share files and printers. My host PC is the
2K, with external DSL modem connected through USB...
How do I get to share this connection???
Do I need a roter to do this? If so why? I know this is
basic stuff but help is much appreciated.

Thanks very much in advance
Fabio

You can use ICS as described in the link below.

Personally I don't recommend ICS and would use a nat router instead, especially at
today's prices [less than one months broadband access]. Why??

--- They are more secure including options to control outbound access and offer
advanced firewall protection including against common attacks and logging.

--- You have much better performance.

--- DSL connectoids plain suck.

--- Your whole network will not go down when your ICS computer is down or stalled.

--- Savings on electricity will pay for itself within a year.

I just bought a nat/SPI firewall for $39 shipped from New Egg after rebates. It is a
wireless router and one can disable the wireless option and leave it for possible use
later and it works fine on wired networks. It also has the more advanced WPA
encryption for wireless. --- Steve

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=33-129-015&depa=5 --- even
does 802.1X for radius authentication.
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=33-127-143&depa=5 --- for
those on extreme budgets. Currently under $30.
