I have ICS set up on 2 win2k machines. I had it working
beautifully for months. I disconnected the client machine
to d/l some stuff on a laptop which I tried to set up for
ICS. I was unable to get the laptop to access the
internet. When I plugged the cable back into the client,
I am able to browse the local network, but not the
internet. I have tried resetting everything and reinstall
ICS but no go. The only error I see in any logs is a
conflict with users and DHCP resolution? When I tried
nbtstat, there are 2 entries with [user name <3>]. Is
there anyway to delete a username at the command prompt?
(One user is the computer name and the other is
Administrator). I'm pretty sure that is the problem on
the client machine.
I have also tried a static addy on the client with the
gateway IP and DNS set to the host.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The dual <03> entries shown by nbtstat is normal. Try setting the client's
DNS to the IP address of your ISP's DNS server. You can find this by
running ipconfig/all on the ICS machine.

I set the clients DNS to the ISP's and checked
automatically find settings in the IP addy section,
rebooted. No luck. Set the IP addy to 192.168.0.2 and
gateway to host and left ISP DNS, reboot, no luck. Do I
need to make any other settings changes?

Thanks

Dunno - On the ICS machine open Administrative Tools/Services. Right click
Internet Connection Sharing and select restart. From the client try pinging
216.239.37.99; if that works, try pinging google.com.
