Hi,

I set up my neighbours wireless network. It worked fine
sharing the internet connection etc.(broadband) for about
3 months. However, the client computer stopped being
able to access the internet about 2 weeks ago and I have
been unable to fix it (and his two daughters are now
murdering him on a daily basis).

Both computers are set correctly (still) in terms of ICS,
and ICS is running. The host machine has the XP firewall
running, but I am unable to configure this by selecting
its internet connection going to properties, then
advanced and then clicking settings as this just hangs.
Everything else about the wireless connection seems fine,
printers and files still shareable I beleive (well
they're visible as is the internet connection but I
haven't tried using them admittedly).

I also tried ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew
on the client machine.

Both machines are running XP home. Both have Norton
Antivirus, but not Norton Internet Security.

Please help!

Thanks,

Stuart

i had a similar thing happen,

remove all the windows network compents possible through
Control Panel, Add / Remove, Windows Setup.

then delete all the connections via network places, view
connections.

re-boot, re-install network compenents and run the home
network wizard and all should work.

if not, do the above, but remove any drivers assoicated
with the cards as well.

once xp gets an idea into its head, it can be pretty hard
to get it to see sense !

good luck
