does outlook support the .ics (iCal) standard? i know you can select a calendar event and select saveas to save it as an iCal file but it doesn't seem to conform to the standard

thanks
Rob Tomson

Yes, although there are some inconsistencies -- OL2000 can't handle a
reminder and no version of Outlook supports a VTIMEZONE element. What
specific issue are you concerned about?

what i'm trying to do is create a program that
automatically publishes the users calendar on a
phpiCalendar site so that mac and pc users can share
their calendars on the web. any information would be
appreciated.

thanks,
Rob

Outlook's ics output should work fine for that, but it won't be able to read
Mac ics files with VTIMEZONE sections.

okay, i got the calendar to show up in phpiCalendar but
the times are off by 7 hours. in outlook i'll have an
entry at 3:00pm and when i export it to phpical it's set
for 10:00pm. my computer timezone is set correctly and
all times seem to display in (mst) but i don't know why it
offsets them by 7 hours.

thanks,
Rob

MST would be 7h off Z (GMT), so 3p MST = 10p Z.
