Good day all,
I have an issue with ICS that has me baffled and have not
been able to find adequate information on MS's support
site. Essentially, I have two nodes using ICS on a cable
modem. I have had these working with out issue for over 6
months now. The cable modem is plugged in to one NIC on
the gateway machine and a secondary NIC connects it to a
switch so that the second node can access it. As it turns
out, ICS *is* working. In the network settings of the
client machine I can clearly see the first computer listed
as the Internet share. More over than that, both machines
use a 192.168.1.x address so they can ping and access each
other all day long.
The issue however, is that it does not appear that the
gateway computer is allowing the client computer to access
the Internet. PING's all time out and I can not surf the
web. I checked the ICF settings and there is nothing set
that would throttle the connectivity of the client. The
last item I should mention is the updates to the gateway
which was only a hardware driver for a MS keyboard.
Any one have any ideas? ICS works to connect the
machines, but the client can not access the web.
Thanks,
Phil
