Hi,

This is a Windows 2000 computer operating as an internet
connection sharing client. The host runs XP, which (I am
informed) has a built in firewall. Is it necessary to
install an additional firewall at the Win2K computer, or
will the host do the job?

I did try installing the latest McAfee firewall here
experimentally, but it introduced problems.

Thanks in advance for your kind attention and good advice.

I did some additional research and discovered that the
WinXP host will serve as a firewall for all the clients on
the ICS LAN. It will reject any received message that was
not specifically requested by the addressee. So no
additional firewall is essential on the client computer.
