We have one user on our company network that is running off a Lotus Notes
server (it's because our product has clients for both Outlook and Notes, so
he serves as a production tester). Whenever he accepts a meeting request
sent from anyone else in the company, the acceptance message apparently
contains an .ics attachment. However, if that person is running Outlook 2003
in cached mode (which all 2003 users are), it "clogs" their mailbox such that
they are not able to synchronize any messages after that acceptance (and in
fact they do not see the acceptance). Any attempt to manual sync results in
an error. If they go into OWA and delete the acceptance, they are able to
fully sync their mailbox again. I do not see this issue with Outlook 2002,
only 2003.
I found a link to someone reporting a similar problem at
http://www.mcse.ms/message223353.html, however there were no messages
following that one, with no solutions or proposed workarounds. Anyone have
an idea how to stop this (short of getting rid of Notes, trust me I'd like
nothing better but it's not in my hands )?
