Hi

Did you create the DNS servers as a Root Server? If you did you need to
follow these instructions http://snurl.com/32ry

Hi,

You cannot run ICS on a domain controller. You need to disable ICS and
configure your DNS server to forward to your ISPs DNS server.

That just goes to show I should read the subject line more often. Duh, I
missed the 'ICS' on it.

he should be able to ics on one of the workstation and still have his domain
on the server. i have done this several times without a hitch. although i
admit that forwarding the isp's dns is a better solution.the ics in a
workstation comes in handy when you don't have a fqdn

Yes, that's true but I guess from the wording of his subject and the
content I guess Marc assumed (and I would agree after re-reading it) that
he's running ICS on the 2K server. If that's not the case then I guess my
root server comment still applies.

yes exactly as you sugested.

i was just wanting to point out a second option in the case he is not able
to successfuly get his dns forward working satisfactory. an option that
would give him a little more time to work on the dns forwarding. when i did
my first i knew nothing asbout dns and it took me around 2 weeks of reading
along with about 1 week of trial and error to get it going satisfactorly.
