ICS and XP home

Been playing around with XP home. According to MS support
I can't run a network with out an ICS? Is that right?
It's not the case with XP Pro. Any seen the same thing?

Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on a network is optional in
both XP Home and XP Pro. What exactly did you see from MS support
that says that ICS is required???
