I've manged to create a network between a host and a client. The internet
conenction on the host is suppsoed to be shared to the client.........

What should i have a DNS server set as if my ip adresses are 192.168.0.1 for
the host and 192.168.0.2 for the client? Will this allow ICS to work?

thankyou in advance.....

It's easiest to configure the client to obtain an IP address
automatically. The DHCP allocator running on the host will make all
the settings on the client.

If you configure the client manually, use these settings:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1 or your ISP's DNS server

Hi, Marcelo. ICS was designed to use only 192.168.0.*, and there's no
supported way to change that.

After enabling ICS, you can manually change the IP address of the host
computer's LAN adapter to 192.168.1.* or another subnet. That will
disable the ICS host's DHCP server, so you'll have to configure all of
the client computers manually. There's no guarantee that ICS or the
network will work properly after making such an unsupported change.
If you want to try it, use System Restore to make a restore point
first, so that you can go back if problems occur.

Can you use a broadband router instead of ICS? If so, that's probably
the best solution. If not (because, for example, the shared Internet
connection uses an internal DSL modem), you could use an Internet
sharing program other than ICS.
