I was wondering if there was any way to differentiate an
icon within a given folder. for example, in macs you can
give different icons different colors so that they stand
out at first sight...is there any way to do that with
windows???

thank you for your time, andrea

You can change the icon for a given folder in XP. Right click the folder and
select Properties/Customize tab. At the bottom of this dialog box, click the
Change Icon button and navigate to a file or folder where the icon is
located. There are literally tons of free icons on the web that you can
download and use.
