How do I change Desktop and such Icons with downloaded icons?
I have downloaded several folders of new icons but am unable to find them
all. Soooo, once I find the files (how do I find?) how do I copy one of the
new icons to a desk top or other file?
When downloading, you are presented with a dialog for Save or Open. Click
Save. Use the screen that appears to select a folder. You could create a
folder named Download specifically for this. Then you'll always be able to
find the downloads. For now, you could use Start> Search in an attempt to
locate the files.
You can change the icon for any *shortcut* by right clicking on the
shortcut, selecting properties and clicking the Change Icon button. Select
the icon that you want to use. Click OK.
If you are trying to change the icons for things like My Computer, My
Documents and so on, use Display Properties> Desktop> Customize Desktop.
There is an area on the screen that appears that lets you change the icons
for these special items.
