I used to have AOL. Something I loved about it was that it allowed me to
very easily put a little icon on the taskbar at the top of the page, linking
to the website I wanted quick access to. How do I do this in IE 6? Please
use layman's terms and baby steps.

If you are using Internet Explorer Six there's no reason why you can't.

right-click on the HOME PAGE button, to bring up a menu list. Make sure that
LINKS has a tick by it. If not click on it.
then right-click on the home button again, to bring up the menu. this time
remove the tick by "lock the toolbars". Then without too much hassle you
should be able to grab the links bar, by the place holder. (The little dots
to the left of it) and drag it BELOW the address bar.

you will probably notice that it shows some links to the following
"customize links", "Free Hotmail", "Windows", "Windows Marketplace", and
"windows Media".

right click on the home button again, this time click on lock the toolbars.
This makes sure that you can't hide the bar by accident whilst deleting the
above mentioned links.

The right click on the links, then click delete, then confirm the deletion.
Do this for all of them.

Once your bar has NOTHING on it, navigate to the page that you wish to add
to the bar. You will notice a little blue E (or another icon if the page
specifies one) next to the URL in the address bar. Drag that icon to the
links bar, to have it added.

If you wish to rename it, (eg. Ebay's one by default says something like
"Ebay - The uk's leading marketplace") Which takes up too much room on your
bar.

So you can rename them by right-clicking on them, and then just typing in
the new name.

You can do this with as many "links" as you want. and delete them as and
when you want.

Hope this helped you
